Restoring Energy in the workplace….

And fueling your body!

Listen here

Energy in the workplace can mean a number of things. On one hand we can create energy through the buzz that we can all contribute towards. Positive energy that we can all add value to.

Supporting each other, having a positive mind set, that rubs off on each other. A great place to work,  fueled as much by the staff as the by the management.

Energy also has a different meaning…The fuel for body and mind that allows us to perform to our best and for every hour of the day! Imagine a car that is not regularly looked after. The miles per litre and overall performance will drop…Humans are no different…So what do we need to do?

Employers need to create a good work-life balance for a number of reasons

  • It increases staff morale and hence staff performance
  • Allowing flexibility reduces unnecessary staff absences
  • A great place to work aiding the recruitment and retention of staff

Many organisations are now helping their staff and in a number of ways. Fresh fruit is made available and healthy options are provided in vending machines.
Regular breaks are encouraged to allow people to stretch their legs. Links to local Yoga/Pilates instructors are being created and where visits to the workplace take place.

Cycle to work schemes are being introduced. Cycle to Work scheme is a UK Government tax exemption initiative introduced in the Finance Act 1999 to promote healthier journeys to work and to reduce environmental pollution. It allows employers to loan cycles and cyclists’ safety equipment to employees as a tax-free benefit.

More enlightened employers are also linking to local gyms and offering discounted rates for staff. Shower blocks are being built, meaning that employees are able to exercise at lunch times.

Ergonomics in the office…Design, seating plan and natural light is similarly part of the process.

Is your work place passing its MOT, or is it ready for a service? Worse still, does it need a major overhaul?

Healthy body…Healthy mind!

Your inner thoughts aren’t truly hidden.
Their essence reflects in your energy. Energy speaks what you don’t.”
