Spring will soon be with us
which means…!!
which means…!!
After the long dark nights and the cold damp days, we often look to the Spring as a time when the weather improves and a hint of summer is upon us.The verb “Spring” means to rise, leap, move, or act suddenly and swiftly, as by a sudden dart or thrust forward or outward, or being suddenly released from a coiled or constrained position.
Little wonder then that we often use the expression “A good spring clean”!
While we often set ourselves New Year resolutions, the chance to have a spring clean is subtly different. Five of the ideas surrounding spring cleaning are below and nicely transfer into our personal and business lives.
- Clear Clutter: The expression… ‘Tidy desk & tidy mind’ is often used. There is nothing worse than a desk full of files and paper. Clean your electronic filing! It can become stressful. We can only work on one thing at any one time. Tidy your desk and focus on one thing.
- Involve the family: Don’t be the only one! Involve your team. Throw away waste. Create an environment that is pleasing to the eye when you come to work. Light and airy. Make this a fun activity, don’t hoard!
- Maintain the Spring Cleaning: This should not be an annual activity. Maintain the standards. We also carry to much clutter in our own minds. Write down what is important. Make a diary note of actions less important and that can wait. Remember one thing…We always get there!
- Plan what you want to achieve: Start to think about what you want to achieve and how you are going to get there. It’s the creation of goals that provide the motivation to make things happen
- Think of the end result: Being able to picture what the end result of our actions looks like, is a powerful way of creating the drive to succeed…” If you can picture it, you can do it”!
De cleanse your mind from negative thoughts. Have a good spring clean.
Replace them with positive “can do” thoughts.
Replace them with positive “can do” thoughts.
Release the clutter and grasp the future!
“Wake up with determination. Go to bed with satisfaction.”
