Values….performance and the benefits –
Why a values driven culture must be part of a Performance Culture.
You go to work, carry out your role, take a salary and that’s it? Not quite! While you will have a Role Profile…what it won’t show are the values that the company holds close to its heart. Its’ heart beat. They often say about certain model employees…If they cut them in two, they would have the Company DNA stamped across their body!
It’s equally important that we distinguish between cloning and working to a set of values. Cloning suggests people working in a robotic fashion and based on a replica model of what the company demands!

A values driven organisation is much more about a number of points: Principles,Standards of Behaviour, A Moral Code and Doing the Right Thing!

The latter statement perhaps is the key one.  It encapsulates the company mantra. Even when times are challenging for an organisation, or when a difficult customer demands more of you than one might expect…It’s about “Doing the Right Thing”.

Competing on price is a model that anyone can follow. Having a set of values…and that all of the staff can both buy into and carry out is a totally separate matter!

The diagram below helps to show how a values driven business will put the customer at the heart of everything it does. Doing the right thing all of the time!

To truly succeed with a values driven ethic demands that you recruit on values and then measure the performance against the same, just as you would against any number driven metric that the company has!
