What we have to be thankful for…

And the difference we can make in 2021! Read here

As we look back on 2020, it’s easy to reflect on the year with our worst of emotions, shock, and still uncertainty for the future.

As I write this, I am very aware that people have lost loved ones…others their jobs or their business. It’s been devastating. Fortunately, while they don’t apply to me, I do have friends for whom the latter applies (jobs and their business).

Its at times like this, that it’s worth bearing in mind, the things that are too easily overlooked. As the saying goes…” Our health, our happiness, a roof over our heads, and food & water”. For too many, both at home and abroad, life is not like that.

It’s then worth remembering how we found ways to adapt.

  • People and organisations realised that home working was possible
  • We embraced technology
  • Parents became teachers!
  • People made meals from scratch!
What about the people!
  • Random acts of kindness
  • Communities re-established
  • We found time to talk!
  • Heroes were everywhere…particularly within the NHS.
What then for 2021, and what have we learned?
  • We are resilient
  • We can adapt
  • The impossible can be achieved…The Nightingale hospitals
  • A vaccine in nine months…Not ten tears.

Returning to the question…” The difference we can make in 2021?”.

I hope that we can become more caring and compassionate…On personal levels and within business. In terms of employee engagement, recognizing that money is not everything. Remembering that in life, there is more than work…AND most importantly, taking forward a BIG “can do attitude”.

2020…The year that we came together.

Life is a question and how we live it is our answer”.
